Family Fun RV – Ty’s Tips: Rookie Checklist

Family Fun RV - Ty's Tips: Rookie Checklist

In this RV tip video, Ty covers some of the most important things for new RV owners to keep in mind. Some highlights...

...Slow down, rushing leads to mistakes which will cause a delay in the fun anyway!

...Breathe and have a checklist - have someone go through it with you (it's also a good way for a second person to familiarize themselves with the needs of the RV)

...A few checklist suggestions:

++Check baggage doors, check to make sure everything's secured
++Be careful when pulling out & getting on the road - check that those stabilizer jacks are up!
++Check your battery levels (maybe the night before)
++Check your water levels
++Check your battery disconnects
++Check your tire pressure - it may change over a harsh winter/summer & check the tread on the tires - a blowout on the road will ruin more than your trip
++Water pressure
++Propane levels
++Check seals - you don't want leaks when hitting the road

...When you do buy a unit, take out your phone and videotape the walk-thru

...Baggage doors - show the kids/grandkids, anyone using the RV - how those clips work

...Awning - it's easy to forget that the awning is open. Make sure to close the awning whenever you leave the campsite because freak wind gusts can wreak havoc on an open awning

Stay tuned - we'll be covering awnings & slides next...
